Week in Review: NYC Startups Band Together, Steve Zarrilli Steps in as President and CEO
Posted by | November 2, 2012
Hurricane Sandy devastated the Mid-Atlantic region early this week, leaving flooding, power outages, gas shortages and battered houses and landscapes up and down the east coast. Many offices, including those of New York City’s Silicon Alley, are still without electricity. Others are flooded. But the startup community has pulled together to share available office space and try to return to a sense of normalcy. Our thoughts go out to all those affected by the storm.
Last Thursday, Safeguard announced that CFO Steve Zarrilli is succeeding Peter J. Boni as Safeguard’s new CEO. Steve officially took the helm yesterday. Both Steve and Peter penned blog posts last week about the transition. The big news earned ink in the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Philly.com, the Daily Local News, NASDAQ, Dow Jones VentureWire, PEHub, Philadelphia Business Journal, and Philly Tech News.
