To more fully embody its enduring faith in the entrepreneur as a strong and innovative force, Safeguard Scientifics updated its corporate logo to take on the image of the American eagle, a representation of the entrepreneur’s quest for growth, excellence and rare performance.

The logo transformation coincided with a bold corporate mantra, “A Vision for Success. The Power to Develop It.” That same year, Safeguard Scientifics devised the Safeguard Eagle Award to honor individuals who soared in business and personal excellence. Delbert W. Johnson, President and CEO of Pioneer Metal Finishing, was the first recipient.
