By 1969, Safeguard Industries had grown to five operating divisions: Safeguard Information Systems Group, Safeguard Marketing Services Group, Safeguard Precision Products Group, Safeguard Financial Services Group and Safeguard International Facilities. Together, Safeguard operated 30 plants and employed over 3,000 people.
The company’s earnings demonstrated significant and consistent growth, and its market presence was diversified, spanning a broad spectrum of services and products. Fueled by rapid acquisitions in the 1960s, Safeguard grew from $2 million to $60 million in sales from 1964 to 1969. By 1970, Safeguard Industries’ national markets served over 150,000 business people and investors.
