5 Partner Companies Rank On 2012 Inc. 500|5000

Today, Inc. Magazine announced rankings for the 2012 Inc. 500|5000 list, and five Safeguard Scientifics partner companies made the list!
The Inc. 500|5000 ranks the nation’s fastest growing private companies, with the 2012 rankings representing percentage revenue growth when comparing 2008 to 2011. As cited in many press releases today, the ‘Inc. list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—entrepreneurs.’ We agree!
Inc. Magazine noted that the 2012 list is the most competitive in its history—in order to make the Inc. 500, companies had to achieve a minimum of 770 percent growth in sales. For companies listed on the Inc. 500, aggregate revenue totaled $15.7 billion, with a median three-year growth of 1,431 percent. The companies on this year’s Inc. 500 employ more than 48,000 people and created over 40,000 jobs in the past three years. For the Inc. 5000, company median growth rate was 97 percent in what Inc. deems a “stagnant economic environment.” The companies on this list reported creating more than 400,000 jobs over the last three years, with aggregate revenue reaching $299 billion. Talk about job creation in the private sector!
So what partner companies made the 2012 Inc. 500|5000 list?
- Spongecell — ranked #27 (up from #76 last year), having increased revenue 6,316 percent between 2008-2011. Spongecell also ranked #4 in advertising and marketing, as well as #2 in New York City.
- MediaMath — ranked #271, having grown revenues 1,319 percent between 2008-2011. In addition, MediaMath added 98 employees during that same time period. MediaMath also ranked #37 in advertising and marketing, as well as #24 in New York City.
- AdvantEdge Healthcare Solutions (AHS) — ranked #757 (up from #1029 in 2011), having grown revenues 460 percent between 2008-2011. In addition, AHS ranked #49 in health and #65 in New York City.
- Bridgevine — ranked #2856 (up from #3078 in 2011), having grown revenues 80 percent between 2008-2011. This is the sixth consecutive year that Bridgevine has ranked on the Inc.500|5000 list—only 10% of the companies currently on the Inc.500|5000 have achieved comparable recognition of revenue growth for six or more years in a row!
- Beyond.com — ranked #3187, having increased revenue 65 percent between 2008-2011. Beyond.com ranked #80 in Philadelphia.
